Either way, I really wouldn't discount perjury charges against Blankfein, "Fabulous Fab", et al. You see, even though the Enron guys (Lay, Skilling, et al) were in bed with the Bush clan, the US DoJ and SEC went after them aggressively and vigorously.

Enron was only a utility company and the DOJ and SEC had to go after them when a lot of rich folks were left holding the bag when their stock went to zero. The interesting thing about the Enron debacle is that the accountants who facilitated the scams were untouchable. Even the criminal conviction against the AA partnership was overturned by the SCOTUS.

Similarly, the banks are untouchable. The scams that almost caused a worldwide depression made a lot of rich folks much richer. No way the DOJ or the SEC are going anywhere near this, although the politicians will grandstand for a bit before the banksters stuff another wad of Franklins into their back pockets.
