No, not a 1st year BBB associate compensation @ a Sister/Big Law; I'm talkin' about MPs!!!

Just to put this in perspective:

1st yr associate hire salary @ Tier 1 NY Big Law (ie. Skadden, Cravath, S&C, Simpson Thatcher, etc): $160,000.
1st yr associate hire salary on Bay: ~$105,000.
Max amount even the most experienced lawyer can bill LAO in disbursements per fiscal year: $152,500 (some exception by a judge's order notwithstanding for 1st degree murder type complex matters, etc).

MPs (in Canada), yes even 19 year olds with no formal education, make way more than HYS/T14 alums.

Qualifications needed to be an MP:

Academic - NONE!
Professional - NONE!
Good character requirement - NONE!

If memory serves, I think it was only your own NDP who were targeting the teenager/waitress demographic.  That isn't a lot of money to the "over 40" crowd.
