I have client's who are physicians (quite a few). Some of them moved to smaller communities in the areas just north of the 905 with promises of lots of patients, hospital rights, lower cost of living and basically the same level of pay. Many of them have moved back to the 905, they all tell me that the communities in the area just outside the 905 are overserviced.

Another factor that hurts these young specialists is that the older specialists are allowed to keep practicing. There is no retirement age any more so they keep going, and who can blame them. Their kids are grown, their wife hates them (or divorced them years ago) and they can make $400k a year rather than look at their empty home life. Same thing goes for old lawyers.
